Hereafter referred to as the “Seller”.
These General Terms govern purchases through the website and are drawn up under applicable Italian and European law, particularly Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Italian Consumer Code), Legislative Decree 70/2003 on electronic commerce, and subsequent amendments.
Before ordering, the Customer should carefully read these Terms, which are available on the website at any time.
Art. 1 – Scope
These General Terms govern distance sales of products offered through www.piglialapuglia.com.
“Customer” means any person or entity purchasing products through the website.
The mandatory provisions of the Italian Consumer Code apply to purchases by individuals for purposes outside their business, trade, craft or profession.
Purchases by businesses, professionals, resellers or hospitality operators may also be governed by specific commercial agreements.
Each order is subject to the terms in force when it is placed.
Art. 2 – Product features and availability
The Seller offers food products and items celebrating Apulian tradition, including:
- Pumolio single-variety Peranzana extra virgin olive oil®.
- Bottles, tins and bag-in-box packs, in the sizes actually available.
- Gift packs and handmade ceramic items.
- Bottles with personalised labels for individuals, businesses and events.
Essential product features, quantities, storage instructions and mandatory food information are provided on each product page.
Images are illustrative. Minor aesthetic differences, particularly in handmade items, do not automatically constitute non-conformity; products must still match their contractual description.
Product availability depends on actual stock.
If a product becomes unavailable after ordering, the Customer will be informed promptly and may choose an alternative where possible or receive a refund for the products not supplied.
Art. 3 – Prices and taxes
All consumer prices are in euros and include applicable VAT.
Shipping and any additional charges are shown separately before the order is completed.
The applicable price is the one displayed and confirmed at purchase.
The Seller may change website prices at any time, without affecting orders already contractually accepted.
Promotions, discounts and promotional codes are subject to their specifically communicated terms and applicable law.
Where offered, only one promotional code may be used per order. Validity, any minimum spend, expiry and eligible products depend on the advertised offer. The discount is verified in the summary before payment; codes cannot be combined. Shipping rates and thresholds are based on the product total after discounts, excluding shipping. The absence of an offer does not create an entitlement to a discount.
Art. 4 – Ordering and contract formation
The Customer selects products and adds them to the online basket.
Before confirming, the Customer can check quantities, prices, addresses, delivery costs and payment methods and correct any errors.
Submitting the order using the designated button creates an obligation to pay.
The contract is formed when the Seller notifies the Customer by email that the order has been accepted.
The confirmation includes the essential purchase information and these General Terms, or makes them available on a durable medium.
Payment confirmation is based on verification of receipt with the payment provider. If no order confirmation arrives, the Customer can contact amministrazione@piglialapuglia.com with the purchase reference.
The Seller may refuse an order with reasons where stock is unavailable, fulfilment is impossible, payment problems arise or other objective, lawful reasons exist, promptly notifying the Customer and refunding any sums received.
Art. 5 – Payments
The payment methods actually accepted are shown during checkout.
The Customer may choose only from the options shown at checkout before confirmation. Digital wallet availability also depends on the device, account and provider’s terms.
Available payment methods are shown at checkout. PayPal manages its own flow. Where Stripe is offered, the Customer pays on Stripe’s secure page using an available method, then returns to the shop summary. Apple Pay and Google Pay are offered when supported by the Customer’s device, card and account. Wallet payments are confirmed in their payment sheet; the PayPal flow follows its displayed steps before final confirmation. An order is marked paid only after receipt is verified.
Electronic transactions follow the security procedures of the respective payment providers.
The Seller does not ask Customers to send full payment card details or confidential credentials by email.
Art. 6 – Shipping and delivery
Products are delivered to the address supplied by the Customer when ordering.
Shipments use a carrier selected by the Seller for each delivery, with packaging suited to the products, particularly to protect glass containers and ceramic items.
The following rates and thresholds refer to the product total after any discounts, excluding shipping. Free shipping applies only when that total is strictly above the stated threshold.
| Destination | Delivery | Free shipping |

| Italy · express | €19 | Free over €140 |

Italy and European Union: estimated total preparation and delivery time of 1–3 working days for standard orders and 5–10 working days for orders with a custom logo, starting from the Customer’s approval of the artwork proof.
Destinations outside the European Union: estimated delivery time of 7–15 days, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway.
For destinations outside the European Union, any customs duties and import taxes are payable by the recipient in addition to product prices and shipping charges shown on the website.
Applicable costs and times are communicated before the order is completed.
Unless otherwise agreed with the consumer, delivery takes place without undue delay and within thirty days of contract formation, as provided by applicable law.
If delivery is delayed, the Customer retains all rights granted by law.
For consumer sales, risk of loss or damage passes to the Customer when the Customer, or a designated third party other than the carrier, takes physical possession, subject to statutory exceptions.
Art. 7 – Damaged products and shipping issues
On delivery, the Customer is invited to check the packaging and number of parcels received.
If damage is visible, where possible note specific reservations when accepting delivery and document the issue with photographs.
To help resolve the issue, the Customer is invited to contact promptly:
amministrazione@piglialapuglia.com
providing the order number, a description of the issue and, if possible, photographs of the packaging and product.
Failure to note reservations with the carrier or to meet recommended reporting times does not remove the consumer’s mandatory rights.
For damaged, non-conforming or incorrectly supplied products, the Seller handles the claim under the applicable statutory guarantee.
Art. 8 – Right of withdrawal
Customers acting as consumers may withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days of taking physical possession of the products, subject to statutory exceptions.
To exercise withdrawal, the consumer must explicitly notify the Seller of the decision within the applicable deadline.
Notification can be sent to:
amministrazione@piglialapuglia.com
or through the website’s online withdrawal function:
Exercise your right of withdrawal. Review the products and explicitly confirm the request. If the online service is unavailable, you can notify us using the contact details above.
After confirmation of an online withdrawal notice, the Seller sends a receipt on a durable medium without undue delay, recording its content and transmission date and time.
The Customer may use the model withdrawal form at the end of these Terms, but is not required to do so.
Products must be returned within 14 days of notifying the decision to withdraw.
Return address: Via Nicola Fiani 134, 71017 Torremaggiore (FG), Italia.
The Customer arranges return shipping to the stated address. Unless otherwise agreed or required by a specific legal provision, the Customer pays the direct return costs.
The Customer is liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the goods’ nature, characteristics and functioning.
The Seller refunds payments received, including standard delivery costs within statutory limits, within 14 days of withdrawal notification.
The refund may be withheld until the goods are received or evidence of their return is supplied, as provided by law.
Additional costs arising from the Customer choosing delivery other than the least expensive standard option offered are not refunded.
Voluntary exchanges
We also accept requests to exchange new, unused products within 14 days of delivery. To arrange an exchange, contact amministrazione@piglialapuglia.com and include your order number. The exceptions for personalised products and opened sealed goods described in Article 9 apply. Your right of withdrawal and your rights concerning faulty or non-conforming products remain unchanged.
Art. 9 – Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
Under Article 59 of the Italian Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply, among other cases, to contracts for:
- Goods made to the Customer’s specifications or clearly personalised.
- Goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
- Sealed goods unsuitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once unsealed after delivery.
These exceptions apply only where the legal requirements are met.
For Pumolio products® with a specially personalised label, and items made to specific request, any applicable exclusion from withdrawal will be clearly stated before purchase.
A product being food or handmade does not automatically exclude the right of withdrawal.
Rights concerning faulty, non-conforming, damaged or incorrectly supplied products always remain unaffected.
Art. 10 – Personalised products
Where available, Piglia la Puglia® offers extra virgin olive oil bottles with personalised labels and handmade items made to the Customer’s specifications.
Personalisation may include company logos, names, messages, artwork and other agreed content.
Label personalisation is included in cases of 12 bottles in the 100, 250 and 500 ml sizes.
The Customer is responsible for the accuracy of supplied materials and declares that they hold the rights needed to use them.
For custom-logo orders, the Customer must approve the artwork proof before production. The 5–10 working days for preparation and delivery in Italy and the EU start from that approval.
The Customer agrees with the Seller how to send artwork and receives a proof for approval before production. Opening the editor does not submit artwork or approve a label. Original Customer files are kept for 12 months after delivery, as stated in the privacy notice.
After design approval, further changes may require revised costs and timing, subject to agreement.
The Seller may refuse personalisation that is unlawful or infringes third-party rights.
Personalisation must not compromise mandatory information required by food law.
Minimum quantities, production times, any deposits and options to change or cancel the order are communicated before purchase confirmation.
Art. 11 – Handmade ceramics
Ceramic items in the Pumolio range® are handmade.
Slight variations in shade, shape or finish, inherent in handcrafting and consistent with the product description, may be distinctive features of the item.
Requirements for conformity, safety and suitability for the stated use remain unchanged.
Any use, cleaning and storage instructions are provided on product pages or in accompanying documentation.
Art. 12 – Statutory conformity guarantee
Consumer purchases are covered by the statutory conformity guarantee under Articles 128 onwards of the Italian Consumer Code.
The Seller is liable for non-conformity within the periods and on the conditions set by applicable law.
In the event of non-conformity, the consumer is entitled to statutory remedies, including restoration of conformity, a price reduction or termination, where the respective requirements are met.
Requests may be sent to:
amministrazione@piglialapuglia.com
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
Art. 13 – Invoicing and tax documents
Applicable tax documentation requirements are fulfilled for each purchase.
The Customer may request an invoice at checkout before completing the order by selecting the option and entering billing details. This is optional; additional tax details are required only when an invoice is requested.
The request and billing details are stored with the order. The order confirmation records the invoice request, not the issuance of the invoice.
The owner sends the necessary information to the appointed accountant, who issues the invoice.
The Customer is responsible for providing accurate and complete information.
Art. 14 – Processing of personal data
Customers’ personal data are processed to manage orders, invoicing, payments, shipping and legal obligations.
Processing complies with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable national law.
Details of purposes, legal bases, retention periods, recipients and data subject rights are set out in the privacy notice available on the website.
The owner manages orders personally. The website and records use Sites and Cloudflare; Brevo handles operational messages and the separate newsletter, while Register manages the mailbox for replies and support. Necessary delivery and compliance data are shared with the selected carrier and appointed accountant.
Contract and tax records follow statutory retention periods. Operational periods are 24 months after closure for support, 12 months after delivery for Customer artwork, 30 days after last activity for checked, unfinished checkouts, 90 days for owner-controlled technical logs, and 1 month for Brevo operational email logs, without retained previews. Conditions and any further retention requirements are described in theprivacy notice.
The newsletter requires separate, optional consent. Buying does not automatically add the Customer to a promotional list, and unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent essential order messages. Marketing tracking of opens or clicks, and profiling, are not authorised.
Art. 15 – Intellectual property
The Piglia la Puglia® and Pumolio trademarks®, together with website text, photographs, artwork, distinctive elements and materials, are protected by applicable intellectual and industrial property laws.
Without specific permission from the rights holders, these contents may not be reproduced, distributed or commercially used in infringement of their rights.
Art. 16 – Force majeure
Within the limits permitted by law, the Seller is not liable for non-performance or delay directly caused by unforeseeable, unavoidable events beyond its control.
In such events, the Customer is promptly informed of the effects on the order.
Mandatory consumer rights concerning delivery, termination and refunds remain unaffected.
Art. 17 – Complaints and support
For information, support, complaints and order disputes, the Customer can contact:
Piglia la Puglia® – Customer Service
Email: amministrazione@piglialapuglia.com
Telephone: +39 0882 393404
The Seller undertakes to review communications received and respond within a reasonable time.
Art. 18 – Governing law and jurisdiction
These General Terms are governed by Italian law.
Consumer disputes are subject to mandatory rules on territorial jurisdiction and consumer protection.
For business-to-business disputes, where validly agreed and permitted by law, the courts of Foggia have exclusive jurisdiction.
The parties may consider alternative dispute resolution mechanisms provided by applicable law.
Art. 19 – Changes and validity of terms
The Seller may update these General Terms for organisational, commercial or legal reasons.
Changes do not apply retrospectively to orders already concluded.
If a provision is invalid, the remaining clauses remain effective to the extent permitted by law.
Annex – Model withdrawal form
Use only where a right of withdrawal applies.
