THE OLIVE AND OUR ROOTS

What is Peranzana olive oil?

Peranzana is the olive variety we use to make our extra virgin olive oil. Single-variety means the oil comes from this one cultivar, rather than a blend of different olive varieties.

Our roots are in Torremaggiore, in northern Puglia. Between Torremaggiore, San Paolo di Civitate and San Severo, our connection to this land and its Peranzana olives shapes what we do.

Read our story

ONE LAND, MANY STORIES

Peranzana in the land of Frederick II

The landscape of our Peranzana olives also holds an imperial story. Frederick II died in 1250 at Castel Fiorentino, within what is now Torremaggiore. That connection lives on in the memory of the places we share with you through our olive oil.

Olive growing here reaches back to the Middle Ages. Local tradition links the name Peranzana to Provence and the di Sangro family, in a later chapter than the age of Frederick II.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Your Peranzana questions

Do Peranzana and extra virgin mean the same thing?

No. Peranzana names the olive variety; extra virgin is the oil category. Ours is a single-variety Peranzana extra virgin olive oil.

Is your Peranzana olive oil filtered?

Yes. Our oil is cold-extracted and filtered. Filtering removes suspended particles after extraction.

How should I store it after opening?

Keep the oil away from light and heat, close the bottle tightly and follow the label instructions. With a bag-in-box, dispense it using the tap.
